Asian food has gone haywire recently; we've had Pacific Rim, Asian-Euro, intra-Asian fusion and just good old-fashioned ethnic food dressed up on nice china in posh surroundings. Now Yatra aims to fuse the many unique cuisine types of South and Southeast Asia. To be enjoyed in the most stylish of settings, of course. The slick decor is punctuated by mahogany and warm, ethnic hues and you can even choose to sit either at regular tables or on Asian-style, floor-level cushions. The food itself is first-rate, easily on par with the cuisine in the many other smart ethnic eateries London has to offer. The marinated monkfish is heartily recommended and has a surprisingly subtle flavour, especially considering the fish's innate saltiness. Another favourite is the house speciality, railway lamb - accented by coconut and spices.
