The minimalist approach seems to typify all Japanese designers and Yohji Yamamoto is no exception. However, he seems to have shot a sidelong glance at current trends and incorporated his own unique reflection of them into his collection, maintaining his trademark black and white colour schemes. Exquisitely cut designs and occasional, idiosyncratic extravagance lend his creations a very effective flair, and a more colourful interpretation of the often utilitarian face of minimalism. This is a designer space for a designer dress sense, but be sure to stroll slowly around the boutique so as not to walk into the glass intersections, as others have done before you. Concessions feature in Liberty and Joseph.
